A Cold Night🌃
A Cold Night🌃
So cold is the weather in the night,
So wild are the thoughts in the mind,
So far are the stars in the skies,
And so sweet are the dreams in the eyes.
Every dream has a base,
Of a love and happy face,
Every night has a story,
Of a feeling mirth or gory.
My night seems to be colder,
As I feel lonely and older,
Life has it's ways of teaching,
Of love, relations and living.
Oh! this cold night is the recent darkest,
Of life's mysteries so loudest,
Not knowing what holds the future,
Trying hard to sleep a bit tighter.
Will there be an end to this cold night?
Will this winter chills give way to the summer bright?
There seems to be no end to such questions,
And no one to answer as an end to these terrible sessions.
But my friends, life goes on,
Whether we accept or not, it goes on,
Whether we heal from it or not, life continues to go on,
Life always goes on, whether you board on it or not, it just goes on and on and on.
As P.B Shelley said famously,
If winter comes, can spring be far away,
Restating those lines now and ever daily,
Would give us some hope to hold on and stay.
(Dedicated to all those lonely, depressed and failures who have to accept life as it is and move on)
* This poem is written on a cold winter night in December 2018.
