Not fair at all man - To Sushant Singh Rajput

It's not fair at all man, not fair,
I liked you because You are from films,
As I always with filmy people, do a connection share,
So natural that I liked You for your films.

 

Literature and Cricket are other connections,
As Ishaan from 3 mistakes of my life (Kai Po Che),
As M.S Dhoni with everyone's affection (M.S Dhoni),
You got our love that's the pinnacle of an artist’s life.

 

You're an inspiration to people with no background,
Breaking big in the big town,
And your words on suicide in my ears resound, (in Chhichhorie),
Giving hope in my dreams every dawn.
Your thoughts on astronomy and reaching stars,
Gave new hopes of galaxies in my empty space.

 

But why did you give up????
I wonder what your heart went through,
Before this drastic step you had to take,
And now with a sad heart, I bid you adieu, oh shining star.

 

When I had such suicidal tendencies,
I looked up to films,
And to inspiring people like You,
But see what you did… You failed me brother, unlike in films,
You failed me and it's not fair at all from You.

 

I wonder now, how should I look at this,
And, losing you is a great loss to all film lovers, 
And for all people from small towns with bigger dreams.
Wherever You are now,
Find peace, at least there, dear brother.

Note* - This elegy was written on  15.06.2020 with a heavy heart after one day of digesting the news of our favourite actor, Mr. Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide (or....?) on that fateful night in Mumbai.
